A regular track I use for the intro / talking portions between songs on the show. This band is from Brooklyn, NY paying homage to a musical style which developed in Peru during the 1960s. A hybrid of Colombian Cumbia music with Andean Huaynos. The combination gave rise to “Chicha.” This is the track “Tres Pasajeros” from the album Sonido Amazonico by Chicha Libre. There’s an article on Univision tumblr today about a new wave of Cumbia influenced music on the rise in Colmbia. Viva!
